Cookies & Cream Protein Balls recipe is an easy to make snack that is high in protein.

I love to make protein balls because they only take about 10 minutes to throw together, I only need 1 bowl and there is no baking involved. Another reason protein balls are so great is that you don’t need many ingredients and you can get creative with you flavors. I just got this yummy cookies & cream protein powder and thought a cookies and cream version of my Cookie Dough Protein Balls would be a perfect use for it. I normally have all the ingredients to make a batch on hand this time I only had to buy some Oreo’s which are accidentally vegan ingredient wise, although production could come in contact with products containing milk. If that is something that worries you just find a different sandwich cookie or use chocolate chips. These Cookies & Cream Protein Balls can serve many purposes from being an on the go snack, packed in your lunch, pre or post workout protein or even a late night chocolatey treat. No matter when you eat them they are a healthier option than traditional cookies or dessert.

Ingredients:

Almond Butter– Creamy or crunchy, both taste great; I typically use creamy. Sub peanut butter for a strong PB flavor.
Agave Syrup– I prefer a light agave for making this recipe. You can use pure maple syrup as well but it may slightly change the taste.
Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder or Cookies and Cream flavored if you can find it
Vanilla Extract
Coconut Flour
Oreo Cookies– I use Double Stuff Oreos but any vegan sandwich cookie will work.

This recipe makes about 20 Cookies & Cream Protein Balls.

One serving  (4 balls) is roughly 380 Calories, 20g fat, 45g carbs and 16g Protein. I used my fitness pal to determine this, note that nutritional info will vary by ingredients/ brands used.

Cookies & Cream Protein Balls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Almond Butter
  • 1/3 Cup Agave Syrup
  • 1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 Cup Cookies & Cream Vegan Protein Powder or vanilla vegan protein powder
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut Flour
  • 6 Oreos or other sandwich cookie

Instructions

  1. In a medium to large bowl mix almond butter, agave, and vanilla extract until combined.
  2. Add protein powder and coconut flour, mix with a rubber spatula.
  3. Crush Oreo cookies by putting in a plastic Ziploc bag and smash with a rolling pin. Mix in crushed Oreos.
  4. Take about a 1-2 Tablespoons in your hand and roll into a ball. You should get about 20 1 inch balls.
  5. Store in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator or freezer.
