Ever since I have started eating a mostly whole food plant based diet I always have medjool dates on hand. Dates are a great whole food option to sweeten desserts or healthy treats and avoid using any processed sugars. If you have never bought medjool dates have no fear most grocery stores carry them, I usually get mind from Aldi (Check out my whole food plant based Aldi shopping list).
You will need a high speed blender or food processor to make these, I just used this food processor and it did the trick. To form the mixture into bars you will need parchment paper, but wax paper would work too, to line a pan. Use parchment paper when storing the cherry larabars as well so they do not stick together. I mention using an 8×8 pan but you could use a loaf pan or any other pan you have just cut your larabars in your desired size & shape.
Quick and easy to make this homemade cherry larabar recipe is great for meal prep or just to have on hand. The recipe is whole food plant based, vegan, dairy free, refined sugar free, oil free, gluten free and probably free of something else but you get the picture. To sum it up these are a easy to make healthy homemade treat.
