Chocolate Cherry Smoothie (vegan + naturally sweetened)

by Emily

Today I am sharing my chocolate cherry smoothie. This smoothie recipe is vegan and whole food plant based with no refined sugar or highly processed ingredients. The smoothie taste like cherries and chocolate without being too sweet; you can always add a few more dates if you prefer a sweeter cherry smoothie. I also add a big handful of spinach to sneak in some greens which you can’t taste or see as the smoothie remains a deep purple color.

I use my Ninja Chef blender which I love because it has a setting just for smoothies so I don’t have to guess how long to blend. And it makes it so creamy and smoothly blends in the date and spinach so there are no chunks.

If you don’t like banana no worries just add in some extra berries or a few ice cubes to get the same consistency. This chocolate cherry smoothie would also be delicious with strawberries instead of blueberries.

Smoothies are a great plant based breakfast option. They are quick and easy to make. You can bring them with you on the go. After a few tastes you can tweak the recipe to make it taste perfect for you.
