Lately I have been making smoothies and protein shakes for breakfast; they are easy, yummy and healthy. I am always trying to mix up my flavor combinations and knew I wanted to make something with fall flavors in it which lead me to creating this Vegan Pumpkin Protein Shake. I saw that Garden of Life had a Vanilla Chai flavor of their raw organic plant protein powder and new it would be great for some fall inspired recipes. This protein powder has 22 grams of protein per serving, includes vitamins, minerals & probiotics and along with being vegan is gluten and soy free. Not only are pumpkins super cute Halloween decorations but nutrient dense veggies you can sneak into this sweet drink. Pumpkin provides you with fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, antioxidants and is low in calories (Medical News Today). Make sure to buy pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling as it has added sugars.
This recipe for Vegan Pumpkin Protein Shake is as easy as pie. Blend up just a few ingredients and in minutes you have a healthy and delicious breakfast or post workout snack. I use frozen banana chunks but if you have fresh banana add in a few ice cubes. For liquid I use vanilla soy milk if I am going for max protein, if you don’t have soy milk any plant based milk will work. The Garden of Life vanilla chai protein powder is amazing in this protein shake giving you that extra hint of spice. Pour this shake in your favorite smoothie glass (I’m a fan of mason jars), grab a straw and enjoy a sip of pumpkin pie bliss. Vegan Pumpkin Protein Shake
Ingredients
- 1 Frozen banana
- 1/3 Cup pumpkin puree
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Chai plant protein powder
- 2 Tsp Flax seed
- 1 Cup vanilla soy milk Sweetened or unsweetened
- 1/2 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice or Cinnamon
- Walnuts or Pecans optional topping
Instructions
